About Us

Ch Miss Tzuzzie Q of Chru-Ling

My involvement in purebred dogs began in 1975 with my purchase of a black and white shih tzu. This cute little girl finished her Canadian championship and went on to play a major role in establishing the “Shente” line.

In 1978 Shente’s Brandy Alexander was born. Brandy went on to win 75 Best in Shows, including many specialty wins in both Canada and the United States. Brandy played a major role in many breeder’s breeding programs, and his name can be found in the pedigrees of many of today’s top dogs.

Ch Shente Brandy’s Alexander

Brandy was Canada’s top Shih Tzu and Top Non Sporting dog for 7 consecutive years. He also won Best of Breed at the coveted Westminster Kennel Club Show at 11 years of age.

Ch Shente’s Christian Dior

In the meantime, another “Shente” shih tzu was making a niche in the dog world, and this was Shente’s Christian Dior. Christian was a Brandy grandson and he went on to accumulate 98 Best in Shows, including many specialty wins in both Canada and the United States. Christian’s greatest accomplishment was when he achieved the status of being #1 dog All-Breeds in Canada in 1988!

Both Christian and Brandy went on to produce many Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show winners. To this day, our pedigrees come down from these two famous dogs.
